Aquinas Magazine Front Cover & Evaluation.

For my preliminary task i was asked to produce a front cover and contents page for a new college magazine. On my magazines front cover i think i was successful for the following reasons; I positioned all of the secondary images on and around the main cover image in an effective way by ensuring they compliment the magazines house style and make the neutral background look more eye catching. I carefully selected a font for the covers masthead that i think looks professional for a college magazine and it is also similar to the font of the original Aquinas logo. I made sure i added each and every detail to my magazines cover such as its issue number, price and bar code to make it look as professional as possible. Not to mention i reflected the information i had gathered from my questionnaire research on my cover for example with the promotion/advertisement and the Top shop competition. I further used a pull quote from one of the magazines articles to gain my target audiences interest. However when creating the front cover for my music magazine i will take into consideration that it will look more effective if i take more time when editing my main cover image on Photoshop as the main cover image on my Aquinas magazine has rough edges in some areas. I will also ensure next time that using my audience research for ideas i will use more secondary images on my music magazines front cover so that the main cover image doesn't look too neutral and i will further consider capturing less background in my main cover image or using a interesting background instead if necessary.
